CDNG 303 - Medical Coding for Certification - Hospital / Facility Based
Program Description:
The CRN Institute has prepared a definitive college-level program of study that is aimed at providing the most up-to-date information relating to CPT, HCPCS and ICD-9-CM procedural and diagnostic coding for hospital/facility based coding.
Needs Assessment:
This material was developed in order to help billers/coders and other medical professionals to better understand the rapidly changing medical coding and billing environment and to prepare for the national CCS board exam offered by the American Health Information Association.
Occupational Competencies:
Upon completion of course the student will be prepared to take the CCS board exam.
Facilities Required:
The class size is limited to no more than 30 students at a time for effective learning. The classes are provided via a national teleconference line.
Instructional Strategies:
Students will be instructed with Power Point slides, overheads, white board illustrations and with computerized modules. In addition students will have access to a private internet website that will contain are area to submit homework assignments, view supplemental handouts and extra credit exercises and quizzes.
Evaluation Techniques:
Students will be evaluated with regular quizzes and tests.

Competencies Prior to Enrollment:
It is required that students have taken the following:
- Medical Terminology
- CDNG 301 or equivalent
